Evening:
- Head to the World's Oldest Continuous Rodeo Grounds to catch the opening night performance (Thursday Night, 6 PM – WPRA Performance). Experience the thrill of events like bull riding, barrel racing, and steer wrestling as the Rodeo gets underway.
- Enjoy a classic Western dinner at the Buffalo Bar & Grill, with hearty steaks and country music and a lively bar scene.
Day 2: Outdoor Adventure & Tough Enough to Wear Pink
Morning:
- Swing by the Pinon Café for a cowboy-sized breakfast, featuring biscuits and gravy or cowboy-worthy pancakes. Get there early so you can catch the parade.
Afternoon:
- Enjoy cooling off at one of Payson's coolest swimming holes. Hike along the Water Wheel Falls Trail, where scenic views of cascading waterfalls and lush greenery will leave you refreshed and ready for the day.
- Grab A Late Lunch at Macky's Grill for a hearty burger and fries and some Western ambiance.
Evening:
- Return to the Rodeo Grounds for the Friday Night, 7 PM - Tough Enough to Wear Pink Performance. Cheer on your favorite cowboys and cowgirls as they compete for glory in thrilling events.
- Stroll through the vendor area, grab some local crafts or souvenirs, and savor a funnel cake or a Navajo taco from the food stands.
Day 3: Parade and Final Patriotic Performance
Morning:
- Up and early like the Cowboys do. Get breakfast at one of Payson's iconic restaurants – The Beeline Cafe, which features delicious omelets or Southwest specialties.
- At 9 AM, experience the World's Oldest Continuous Rodeo Parade, complete with clowns, horses, floats, dance groups, and local hometown high school marching band.
- Catch the Saturday Afternoon, 11 AM – Coca Cola Family Friendly Performance at the Payson Rodeo Grounds and grab a shave ice from the local vendors.
Afternoon:
- Head back to the hotel and rest up for the final act!
Evening:
- Arrive early when the gates open (5:30 PM) For the Saturday Night, 7 PM - Final Rodeo Patriotic Performance. Come celebrate our military and enjoy the biggest performance of the weekend. Make sure you got your boots on and your cowboy hat is screwed on tight cause this is going to get wild.
- Stick around after the Rodeo and enjoy the World's Oldest Continuous Rodeo Dance. Complete with live music, this barn dance is the perfect ending for this western-themed weekend.
- Arrive Early: Secure the best seats and enjoy pre-rodeo festivities, including vendor booths and concessions.
- Dress for the Occasion: Wear comfortable cowboy boots, a hat, and sun protection to embrace the Western vibe.
