WELCOME TO THE
STAIRIZONA TRAIL IN
GLOBE, AZ
The Stairizona Trail in Globe, Arizona, is a vibrant fusion of urban hiking, local history, and stunning public art. Spanning three loops and up to 6.4 miles, this unique trail weaves through the town’s historic staircases, footbridges, and landmarks, offering a fresh perspective on Globe’s heritage and creativity.
Historic WPA-era stairways, once used by miners, are now adorned with colorful murals inspired by Arizona’s flora, fauna, and culture. Highlights include the golden poppy staircase by artist Brandt Woods and whimsical Gila monster paintings tucked along the route. The trail extends from Globe’s charming downtown to the historic cemetery and the pet-friendly Noftsger Hill Dog Park, where art adds playful touches to the scenery. Born from a community effort, the project features over 60 artworks by local and regional artists, volunteers, and schoolchildren, creating a dynamic destination for visitors and residents alike. Guided tours, offered November through May, bring the trail’s stories to life.
With new additions planned, including more murals and interpretive signs, the Stairizona Trail continues to grow as a must-visit attraction. Explore Globe’s art, history, and community spirit on this unforgettable trail.
