A striking array of granite bluffs, boulders, domes, ridges, and walls forms an impressive landscape within the Tonto National Forest, located at the far southern end of the Mazatzal Mountains. This rugged terrain features a diverse and dramatic topography that captivates visitors and climbers alike.

Among these natural features, many of the most popular routes and climbing opportunities are concentrated on the southern side of the highest western summit. This summit is one of four primary crests that extend westward for over two miles from the Mazatzal Divide, creating a prominent and continuous ridge line. The vast expanse of these crests provides a variety of challenging and scenic routes for outdoor enthusiasts to explore, offering panoramic views and a rich climbing experience in this remarkable mountainous region.
